Farm History

Dale Cottage Farm lies adjacent to the neighboring Brook Farm, also in the family. The farm house and out buildings date back to the 1850's and the 70 acre of farm land is set in an area of old traditional hay meadows. Medieval ridge and furrows are preserved in two fields lying between the two farms, which also contain medieval pear trees, remnant of a traditional farm orchard. Despite being at a modest altitude, substantial parts of the farm enjoy splendid wide views over the adjacent Derbyshire countryside
